Project Description

Carl Linnaeus – The 18th century superstar who put Sweden on the map.

Carl Linnaeus was the 18th century Swedish scientific superstar who was the father of modern botany. No city preserves his legacy better than Uppsala where he taught at the university. From May to September, tourists can visit his town home, now the Linnaeus Museum and his summer farm, Hammarby, or walk the Linnaeus Trails where he would give alfresco tuition to his students. Uppsala’s magnificent parks and gardens provide a constant reminder of this fascinating Scandinavian genius.
